Cancer Patients See Improvement in Symptoms from Medical Cannabis
According to a study conducted by the Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management, cancer patients enrolled in the state’s medical cannabis program reported improvements in several cancer-related symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, appetite loss, anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances.
The study analyzed data from 6,621 patients who participated in Minnesota’s medical cannabis program between July 1, 2015, and December 31, 2023. Researchers evaluated patient-reported symptom severity at enrollment and at follow-up intervals during treatment. The Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management stated that the analysis is one of the largest studies involving cancer patients receiving medical cannabis treatment.
