DEA Judge Pauses Marijuana Rescheduling Hearing Over New GAO Report
A Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) administrative law judge issued a stay in the federal cannabis rescheduling proceedings while considering a request to add a recently released Government Accountability Office (GAO) report to the hearing record.
The stay pauses the judge’s recommendation on the proposed transfer of marijuana to Schedule III while the motion is under review. The judge ordered responses to the motion by October 13. The stay does not determine whether marijuana will ultimately be moved to Schedule III.
