The Trump administration loosened U.S. cannabis regulation on Thursday, a move that doesn’t legalize the plant federally but could bring improved operating conditions for businesses. Oregon industry leaders called Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s order a historic validation of cannabis but noted that it focused immediately on medical cannabis and left many details uncertain for businesses in the state.
“I think folks would be smart to remain cautiously optimistic — with an emphasis on cautiously,” Niki Terzieff, executive director of the Cannabis Industry Alliance of Oregon, told the Business Journal.
